One morning I was busy getting myself and my two toddler sons ready for the day. I had just began a new job the Lord had given me and was getting the boys their breakfast and noticed we were out of groceries, all that remained was about a 1/4 of a gallon of milk. I looked in the cushions for change, as I hadn't had work since the Lord had moved me to Orange Co. Much to my relief I found enough to get another gallon of milk, at least their tummies would have something in them that night. I was putting the boys in their car seats when I was approached by an old man with a cane. He was very frail looking and had a very challenged walk. I went to help him and he asked me "Do you have some spare change?", I was so moved with compassion as he went on "I haven't eaten in several days and if you have a small amount of change I can get a donut at the shop around the corner and a small milk". My heart was so moved I gave him the change I had found and remembered where I had another quarter. I went running back into the house when I came back a minute later, he was gone. I got in my car and drove to the donut shop, he wasn't there. I went up and down the streets and he was no where to be found. He had moved so slow I thought surely he couldn't have gotten that far. I was driving to the babysitters to drop off the boys, but I couldn't stop thinking about this old man. Suddenly the scripture from Hebrews 13:1Let brotherly love remain; 2of the hospitality be not forgetful, for through this unawares certain did entertain angels. My day went well and much to my surprise when I got home that night there were 5 sacks of groceries on my porch!!. I was so shocked I had told no one of my need.... To be continued next blog :)
