The King is in the field to check on the harvest. This is a wonderful time of the year, a time of reflection and revisiting decisions we have made, as this time once again draws near. I think of King David during this time, as this is a time that we are to become face to face, heart to heart with our King. God said David was a man after His own heart. What made David so favored by God? It was his worshipping heart, love and respect for Gods instruction (Torah). He saw the value of his relationship with God, and that fellowship with God was more satisfying than anything else David could acquire. No matter how we feel and what has gone on in our lives God has always had His face toward us, it has been us, because of a hard heart, rebellion or misunderstanding that turned away from Him. The heart God's asking for can only exist when there is a totality in connection, meaning we are holding nothing in reserve and that He holds nothing back from us. When we realize everything we need to live and thrive, He provides and freely gives to us as we gladly give Love and trust back to Him. Only when we trust Him completely and let God lead the way can we avoid the pitfalls that past mistakes and pain can bring. This doesn't mean we wont have trials but what it does mean He is there through every trial we face. My prayer for each of us is we will let the Lord examine our heart and create in us a clean one so we can be truly happy and at peace no matter what we are facing.
